ELRC’s virtual journey is continuing: A sneak peek at our travel diary

The first six country workshops of “ELRC 3.0” took place and the same number of workshops is already knocking on the door: Our ELRC National Anchor Points are currently working hard to prepare the virtual workshops for Slovakia, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Ireland and Belgium, which will all take place between May and July. With a special focus on each country, the ELRC workshops put a spotlight on latest trends and perspectives when it comes to language technology (LT) and artificial intelligence (AI). By involving representatives from the public sector, research and academia as well as LT providers, translation services and SMEs from the particular country, these events provide a unique and multifaceted overview, reflecting different perspectives, experiences and use cases.

The first part of our journey brought us to Sweden and Luxembourg, followed by Greece, Finland, Norway and Germany. If we took this trip by car, this would add almost 9600 km to our mileage! On average, more than 80 participants joined these free ELRC events to share their know-how and requirements – and to find out how digital interactions can be transformed and advanced with the help of LT in our multilingual Europe. According to the feedback of the participants, the workshops really hit the bull’s eye: For each of the workshops, participants gave an average score ranking from 4.5 to 4.7 when being asked to rate their level of satisfaction from 1 (not satisfied at all) to 5 (completely satisfied). We have collected some of the key statements in the picture below. If you would like to have a closer look at the outcomes of the events, you can also browse through the individual reports and presentations here.
