Members of the Language Resource Board and other ELRC stakeholders met in Berlin, Germany, on March 28, 2017, for the 4th Language Resource Board Meeting. At the event, representatives of the European Commission and the ELRC project's coordinators thanked all of the Language Resource Board members for their huge contribution to the project.

Workshop on the Generation of Multilingual Parallel Documents

This event is a technical workshop on how to automate the production of multilingual parallel documents (pardocs) based on the simultaneous generation of all the linguistic versions from one skeleton template and parallel segments.

To avoid misunderstanding: generation of pardocs is not about machine translation (MT) or computer aided translation (CAT). It is about processing already translated parallel segments into documents. MT and CAT might be used in creating parallel segments.

An interview with Icelandic ELRC workshop speaker Professor Eirikur Rögnvaldsson, filmed during the recent ELRC workshop in Reykjavik, was broadcast on the Icelandic National Broadcasting Service (RÚV) evening news. In the interview, Professor Rögnvaldsson spoke about Icelandic in the digital age. The segment aired on November 16 to mark the celebration of the Day of the Icelandic Language.
