Language Resource Board members meet in Berlin

Members of the Language Resource Board and other ELRC stakeholders met in Berlin, Germany, on March 28, 2017, for the 4th Language Resource Board Meeting. At the event, representatives of the European Commission and the ELRC project's coordinators thanked all of the Language Resource Board members for their huge contribution to the project.

Attendees also discussed plans and activities for the next three years of the ELRC action -- including the organization of events, the identification of crucial language resources, and the processing and alignment of resources for training the MT engines on the CEF eTranslation platform.

The LRB Meeting also provided a forum for planning the upcoming ELRC workshops and seminars in 2017-2018. The workshops will take place in all EU Member States and CEF-affilliated countries. ELRC stakeholders set two goals for the workshops: (1) to promote the coordination of national policy in the field of Open Data with Europe's activities in CEF; and (2) to encourage practical collaboration in the identification, collection, processing, and sharing of language resources.

LRB board members and ELRC stakeholders will meet again at the annual ELRC Conference, which is tentatively scheduled for the fall of 2017 in Brussels, Belgium.
